Your First Chat

Your first session does not need a perfect script. Choose a character that feels right, say what you are looking for, and let the conversation develop at your pace.

#Start with a character, not a performance

Open Mistresses to browse the available characters. Each profile has its own personality and tone, so the best first choice is the one that makes you curious, not the one you think you are supposed to choose.

In the screenshot below, open a character you like, then click Start Chat on her profile. That button is on the profile page — not on the directory grid.

When the chat opens, begin with one honest sentence about what you want. Clear context gives the conversation something real to respond to.

Shortest route: Mistresses → profile → Start Chat

Start Chat appears on an individual profile, not on the directory card list.

Visual workflow: Generate Images

It opens Image Studio with the current chat context. It does not attach an image to the draft message.

#A simple first-message formula

If the blank message field feels intimidating, use this structure: who you are, what kind of interaction you want today, and how direct you want the tone to be. You never need to overshare to get started.

For example: “I am new here. I want a confident, playful conversation and I would like to start slowly.” That is enough information to create a useful first exchange.

  1. Choose a mistress or create a custom character.
  2. Open the chat and write a short, natural opening message.
  3. Use the conversation to clarify your preferences, boundaries, or desired mood.
  4. Return to the same chat later if you want continuity with that character.
Keep it human

The most useful messages are specific and natural. You do not need special commands or a polished roleplay prompt to begin.

#What to expect after you send a message

Mistress.to is designed for ongoing conversations, not one-off prompts. Your chat can build context over time, and you can return to it from the chat area when you want to continue. If you want to explore a different dynamic, open a separate chat instead of forcing one conversation to do everything.

As you become more familiar with the product, you can explore memory and history, voice calls, tasks, and the Image Studio.

#Know the three composer actions before you send

Look at the bottom composer in the screenshot below. The sparkle icon opens Generate Images (Image Studio — it does not attach a picture to your draft). The gift icon opens Send Tribute, which stages tokens as a Tribute attached block you can remove before sending.

Type normal conversation in the message field, then hit the red send arrow. These are three separate jobs — do not treat them as one button.

Normal conversation: Write a message

This is the only composer action that sends ordinary chat text.

Token attachment: Send Tribute is staged first

The composer shows a Tribute attached block that can be removed before you send the message.

Choose the right starting route

Use the route that matches the context you want to preserve. Starting a new chat is safer than deleting or repurposing a conversation you may want later.

RouteUse it whenResult
Directory characterYou want to explore an existing personality.A chat begins with that profile's character context.
Custom Mistress BuilderThe directory does not give you the visual or personality starting point you want. You define a fictional character through Style, Customize, Calibration, and Mistress.
Existing chatYou want continuity with the same character and topic. The thread remains the home for that conversation's history and memory.
Shortest first-chat route

Mistresses → profile → Start Chat → composer. That is the reliable path.

Common questions

Quick answers

Do I need to know what to say before I start?

No. A short, honest opener is enough. The conversation can develop from there.

Can I talk to more than one character?

Yes. Keep separate chats when you want distinct conversations or different character dynamics.

Where does Start Chat appear?

It appears on an individual mistress profile after you open it from the directory.

Does Generate Images send a chat message?

No. It opens Image Studio with the current chat context available.

Can I remove a tribute before sending?

Yes. Remove the Tribute attached block from the composer before you send the message.

Which screen should I trust if this guide and the product look different?

Use the live Mistress.to screen. The guide explains the workflow, but visible labels, availability, and confirmations in your account are authoritative.

Can I leave midway through these steps and come back later?

Yes for normal browsing and chat. Reopen the same feature from its navigation entry. Pause before any action that explicitly says it will delete data, spend tokens, or change billing.

What should I hide if I share a screenshot for help?

Crop or blur names, emails, chat messages, character images, balances, referral codes, payment information, and any unique account details before you send it.

Where can I get help if a visible label is missing?

Use the Wiki search for the feature name, then use Contact support and include the page, the control you expected, and what appears instead.
